A Rapid Antigen Test That Is Fanttest-tic

The World Health Organisation (WHO) may have declared that COVID-19 is no longer a global health emergency, but that doesn’t mean the virus is obsolete. Now that we’re entering a winter flu season here in Australia, we would still need to take precautionary measures to keep ourselves and our loved ones safe.

Stay Protected And Stay Safe

Here are some ways you can stay protected against COVID-19 and Influenza A & B:

  1. Wear a mask in public spaces: We recommend the 3M 1870+ (only available to healthcare professionals) or the cocoon N95
  2. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth without sanitising your hands first with Aqium hand sanitiser
  3. Strengthen your immunity with a flu vaccination or a COVID-19 booster
  4. Filter your indoor air with Smart Air HEPA filter air purifiers
  5. If you’re experiencing COVID-19 or Influenza A & B symptoms, do an at-home rapid antigen test like Fanttest. Early detection reduces contagious outbreaks.

How does the Fanttest Rapid Antigen Test work?

Fanttest, a 3-in-1 combo rapid antigen test, is a reliable solution for detecting COVID-19, Influenza A, and Influenza B when you’re experiencing symptoms this winter. By providing fast and accurate results within 15 minutes, Fanttest aids in effective diagnosis and management of respiratory illnesses during these periods.

Fanttest utilizes the double antibody sandwich method with dual specimen wells, enabling precise detection of viral antigens associated with COVID-19, Influenza A, and Influenza B. This methodology ensures high sensitivity and specificity for accurate diagnosis.

The TGA recommends that rapid antigen tests are generally best performed within the first 7 days from when symptoms first appear for COVID-19 and within the first 4 days from when symptoms first appear for Influenza.

Ensure Accurate Test Results With Proper Collection Techniques

  1. Preparation: Start by carefully reading the instructions provided with the Fanttest test kit. Ensure you have a clean workspace and clean hands
  2. Positioning: Tilting your head back at a 45 degree angle, gently insert the nasal swab provided into your left and subsequently right nostril. Ensure that it goes straight back along the floor of the nose. Be cautious not to insert it too far or cause any discomfort.
  3. Swab Rotation: Once the cotton swab is inserted, rotate it in a circular motion against the inner wall of the nostril for approximately 3-4 times. This movement helps ensure proper sample collection.
  4. Liquid Presence: After swabbing both nostrils, check for the presence of liquid on the cotton swab. The liquid indicates that an adequate sample has been collected.
  5. Sample Extraction: Insert the swab into the Extraction Buffer tube provided, rotating it with the buffer liquid and letting it set for 1 minute
  6. Cassette Application: Drop 3 drops in each specimen well on the cassette provided, and wait 15 minutes for your results.

During flu season and cold weather, Fanttest, a TGA-approved 3-in-1 combo test, offers fast and accurate detection of COVID-19, Influenza A, and Influenza B. With its ability to provide rapid results and aid in precise diagnoses, Fanttest plays a crucial role in optimizing healthcare during these periods. By facilitating proactive management, efficient resource allocation, and targeted public health interventions, Fanttest enhances our ability to combat respiratory illnesses and safeguard public health during flu season and cold weather.
